Are the sketches really hand-drawn? Is digital art made with AI?
Yes. Every pencil sketch is 100% hand-drawn on paper by our artists, using real pencils, with no tracing or printing. Our digital portraits are drawn by hand by professional illustrators on a drawing tablet, not generated by AI. You see a preview before anything is finalised.
How does the preview and revision work?
We email you a sketch preview of your portrait. You can request changes at the preview stage and we revise it before final drawing and shipping. Once you approve the preview, the piece is final and non-refundable.
How long does delivery take?
Your portrait is drawn in 3-5 days, then ships with FREE 7-14 days shipping.
Is a frame included?
No. The portrait ships unframed, so you can pick a frame that suits your space.
What photo works best?
A clear, well-lit photo where the face and eyes are sharp and in focus. Natural daylight, eye-level angle, no heavy filters. Several subjects can come from separate photos.
What does SketchX make?
Custom portraits made from your photos: pencil sketches drawn 100% by hand on paper, hand-painted canvas oil paintings, and digital portraits drawn by hand by human illustrators on a tablet. We never use AI.
How much does a portrait cost?
It depends on the style, size and number of subjects. You'll see the exact price on each product page when you choose your options, and our Pricing page lists every size. Shipping is free.
Will I see my portrait before it ships?
Yes. We email you a preview when your artwork is finished. It ships only after you approve it.
Can I ask for changes after I approve it?
No. You can request changes at the preview stage, before you approve it. Once you approve the preview, the piece is final. Please send every detail before drawing starts.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Shipping is free and tracked worldwide. Customers outside the UK may have to pay import VAT or customs charges on delivery.
How do I pay?
Payments are processed securely through Shopify checkout. We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Can you draw more than one person or pet?
Yes. Most pencil sketches can include up to 4 subjects, and the Custom Family Portrait Sketch up to 10, combined from separate photos if needed. Larger sizes suit more subjects.
Can I cancel?
Yes, for a full refund, as long as drawing hasn't started. See our Refund Policy.
